SBI has proven efficacy in reducing drinking levels and preventing the progression to severe AUD, serving as a critical gateway to more intensive treatment for those who require it. Tertiary prevention, conversely, focuses on minimizing disability and preventing relapse in individuals already diagnosed with AUD through comprehensive treatment and aftercare planning.
